Shri Shemsingh Alexander Bathew

 An Officer of the 1990 batch of Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS), Shri Shemsingh Alexander Bathew assumed charge as the Director General of Audit, Northeast frontier Railway, Guwahati on August 10, 2020.

Shri Shemsingh Alexander Bathew was inducted into IA&AS on 27-August 1990. During his long career spanning more than 30 years, he was posted in different capacities at Shillong, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Itanagar and Hubli, before being posted to Guwahati. Shri Shemsingh Alexander Bathew was promoted to the Higher Administrative Grade of IA&AS on 01-May 2015 as the Principal Accountant General Arunachal Pradesh and was subsequently posted as the Director General of Audit, South Western Railway, Hubli and Eastern Railway, Kolkata, in succession.

Shri Shemsingh Alexander Bathew has vast experience in UN Audit having been involved in 2007, 2015 and 2018 for Audit of FAO, Senegal, UNPKO-GSC at Delhi and Brindisia and Remote Access Audit of UNPKO at iCED, Jaipur respectively. He has also attended Indo-Polish Seminar at Warsaw, Poland in 2014 and has conducted Audit of Indian Embassies/High Commissions at Colombo, Male, Sydney and Canberra in 2006.

Shri Shemsingh Alexander Bathew is a permanent resident of Meghalaya. Besides English, he has fluency in the German Language in addition to Indian Languages of Khasi and Assamese.
