Right to Information Act, 2005

Right to Information Act, 2005 is an Act to provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.

PROCEDURE OF FILING OF APPLICATION

A person, who desires to obtain any information under this Act, shall make a request in writing or through Electronic means in English or in Hindi alongwith such fee as prescribed

FORMAT OF APPLICATION FORM

No format for Application has been prescribed.  However, the Applicant should clearly mention his/her Name & Address for correspondence, Telephone Number (Optional) and specific query for the information which is sought (if practicable, relevant document Number and Date etc. may be quoted)

FEE

   Fee may be paid in favour of Pay & Accounts Officer, O/o AG (Audit), Telangana.

Quantum of Fee: A request for obtaining information under Sub-section (1) of Section 6 shall be accompanied by an application fee of Rupees Ten (Rs. 10/-) by way of Cash against proper receipt or Demand Draft or Banker’s Cheque or Indian Postal Order. No fee shall be payable if the Application is made by a person belonging to Below Poverty Line.  Application not accompanied by requisite fee/proof of belonging to Below Poverty Line, will not be treated as a valid request under RTI Act and no information shall be provided.

For providing the information under sub-section (1) of Section 7, fee shall be charged at the following rates :

  1. Rupees two for each page created or copied (A-4 or A-3 size paper)
  2. Actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper
  3. Actual cost or price for samples or models and

For inspection of records, no fee for the first hour, and a fee of rupees five for each subsequent hour

ARRANGEMENT OF RECEIPT FOR APPLICATION & FEE

Physical application & Fee can be submitted in Inward Section of L&S Branch of O/o AG (Audit), Telangana.

APPEALS AND APPELLATE AUTHORITIES ETC. IF ANY

Appeals against the decision of CPIO can be made before the Appellate Authority as per Section 19 (1) of RTI, Act 2005.
