GENDER PROJECT

GENDER PROJECT

GEHAbout Us

The GENDER (Gender Equity and Demography Research) Project is a collaborative research initiative between the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) in Mumbai and the UCSD Center on Gender Equity and Health (GEH) in San Diego. This initiative is designed to apply advanced statistical and data science methodologies to gender data with the goal of guiding understanding of gender inequities in health and development and informing potential solutions to address those inequities. Our research involves analysis of National Family Health Surveys and other national and sub-national data-sets in India; findings are disseminated in high impact publications as well as briefs for use by government, policy makers and other experts. The GENDER Project also offers a training exchange between IIPS and GEH, providing small grants to new scholars (doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty members) at IIPS who engage with the proposed research.
